The Session

Sessions are held in my home studio and typically last an average of 30 minutes up to 2 hours. Sessions are never rushed, and some sessions, such as newborns, may take longer. {Often times I will ask that parents be out of the room while I’m shooting the kids, they seem to be more relaxed when parents are not asking them to constantly smile or look at the camera.} Unlimited images will be taken at the discretion of the photographer. A minimum of 10-20 of the best images from your shoot will have minor retouching and will be shown in your online gallery. Backdrop choice is limited and simple, which keeps the focus on the child and doesn’t detract from capturing their personality and essence. Clients have a choice of solid black or solid white.

After the Session

Within 14 days of your session I will email you your gallery password. This Gallery will be available for a 2 week period. Portrait orders are to be e-mailed to me within this time; this should give you and your friends and family ample time to view them and make your decisions.

Referral Program

As a small business owner, my success depends entirely upon customer satisfaction and word of mouth advertising. When your order is completed, I will provide you with wallet sized referral cards, made using my favorite image from your session. The cards will be printed with my logo and my contact information. My hope is that you will use these cards to pass on my information to your friends and loved ones. As an incentive, for each referral booked, you will receive one free 8x10 or two free 5x7 prints. If 5 referrals are booked, you will receive a complimentary session fee.

What to Wear

Think simple! Clothing choice is a very important part of creating beautiful timeless portraits. If you would like to keep with a classic look, avoid logos, stripes, or other distracting patterns or color combinations. Textured clothing is a nice choice - sweaters, corduroy, etc. for fall and winter, and little slip dresses for girls or denim overalls with or without shirt for boys in spring/summer. Bare feet are always preferred.

If, however, you were considering a more trendy look for your children, that is fine too and a lot of fun. Feel free to bring multiple changes of clothing or even put all the ideas in a bag and bring them. I will work with you to decide what would look best. Feel free to bring some extras such as knit hats, scarves, favorite toys for some more variety and fun.
